Paul Benjamin - Manager- Community Development

Mr. Paul W. Benjamin, a Master Degree Economic graduate from California State University of Fullerton, USA has vast career experience in project development as senior officer in various industrial goods and energy sector international major companies.  Mr. Benjamin has extensive network with government institutions and major private companies in Indonesia as well as abroad.

Paul Graus - Chief Financial Officer - Jakarta

Mr. Graus has over 30 years accounting experience with nearly 20 years in the global mining industry, including a number of years in the Indonesian mining sector focussed on coal and tin.

Mr. Graus has extensive knowledge of the Indonesian coal mining industry, having acted as an Advisor to the Board of Directors of PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam, one of the largest Indonesian coal mining companies, where he assisted management with the financial and corporate restructuring of the business to maximise the value of the company for shareholders.
 
Before joining PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam, Mr. Graus acted as a senior advisor to the Board of PT Tambang Timah TBK, one of the world’s largest tin mining companies.  Most recently, Mr. Graus was Group Finance Manager for First Quantum Minerals Ltd, an international metals and mining company listed on the TSX and London Stock Exchange with a market capitalisation in excess of C$7 billion, where he managed the groups’ project accounting functions to support the rapid expansion and development of the group’s assets towards production. 
 
Prior to his career in the mining industry, Mr. Graus worked for a number of leading Chartered Accountancy firms, including Price Waterhouse Urwick, Nelson Wheeler, Hendry Rae & Court and Bird Cameron Associates.
 
Faroek Basrewan - Director / CHL Advisory Board - Jakarta

Mr Basrewan specialises in dealing with the various levels of Indonesian central, provincial and local government. A graduate in law from Indonesian Christian University, Mr Basrewan has had a long and distinguished career in general mediation and dispute resolution, government and regulatory relations within Indonesia.

Mr Basrewan has distinguished himself in service to Indonesia as Special Staff to the Minister of Defence and has carried out various assignments for the Indonesian Government over many years. He was the Special Assistant to the first democratically elected Indonesian President, Abdul Rachman Wahid (Gustur).

He is currently Special Advisor and Special Assistant to Dr Alwi Shihab, the Indonesian President's Envoy to the Middle East.  Mr Basrewan is also on the Board of Churchill's Indonesian Advisory.

Mr. Ir. Arifin Thaib - Head of Mining Technical Operation - Jakarta

 

Mr. Thaib has vast experience in mining since graduating in General Mining from the Bandung Institute Technology (ITB). His significant experience includes long work track record as head of mining engineering at the largest state own coal mining company and successful mining superintendent at a majority tin mining company in Indonesia.

Mr. Thaib is also seconded expert at training and education centre for the state department of mineral and coal technology. During his career he has attended many specialized courses and workshop both in Indonesia and abroad apart from a number of published reference books he wrote. Mr. Thaib has also been granted by The President of The Republic of Indonesia ‘The Special Achievement Merit’ for the success of saving the Ombilin Coal Mine in West Sumatera on early detection of methane gas.
